Milo's Tumblr

Wow, almost 50,000 notes! Thanks Tumblr! (and thanks Annie!) This post includes a couple gifs I never posted to Tumblr, too.
1 - The animated version of the Walrus cover, which ended up not being used
2 - The Party
3 - The Quiet Ones, the gif version of which I couldn’t upload to Tumblr myself because sometime Tumblr just hates gifs. ‎(ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ┻━┻
4 - Main Street Blues

The link below is to a post about my work on nfgraphics.com, a nice collection of almost all the .gif work I’ve done.
If you’re interested, you can also read an interview I did recently.

Animated artwork by Rebecca Mock

Fine, detailed and subtle animated artwork created by New York illustrator Rebecca Mock. Apparently the animated gif back to stay, gradually more and more people are exploring this old format and customers asking for shouting. Several of these illustrations were created for the New York Times or The Warlus magazine.

Remember this post? Last week I visited Ghent again, and I was welcomed by a blooming prunus serrulata. I’m not sure if the bicycle was left unattended, or it was part of this spring spectacle…

Happy spring!

Why, In 2014, People In The Industry Are Still Using Green Screen Interfaces

United Airlines, 1976
United Airlines, 1976 by Alan Light (cc by)

Two MeFites who have worked on airline systems explain why the computer reservation system that airlines use seems so slow and outdated.

Changing even one character on a green screen could break dozens or hundreds of third party applications. It was like cement; it would take months of negotiation to orchestrate the change in layout on a green screen if you wanted to, say, make a field one character wider.
